So. Welcome to my stories.  Grab a coffee and linger awhile… and if the words touch you, then I have done what I set out to do.  Because for me that’s what it’s about.  Stories that touch.

Duncan Ryder:

“I’m just one more quiet Canadian guy, happily partnered, pretty shy.  I spend my days writing in the corporate world, where there’s actually quite a demand for people who can string sentences together coherently.  But my creative hours are for writing stories....”

Writing:

“I write.  It’s what I do, what I’ve always done.  I’ve had stories in my head for as long as I can remember, and trying to shut them up never works for long.  I used to have the audacity to want to be a Great Novelist…  Then I didn’t.  I stopped writing fiction for a while, but the stories in my head didn’t go away.  I’m just working on balance now, balance and trying to do the best job I can of being true to whatever story is in my head.”

“Everybody’s Wounded”:

“EW is my first story in several years, and my first gay-themed story ever.  To me, it is a story about learning intimacy, which can be a complex thing. The more wounds we carry with us, the more complex it gets.   The way I see it …we're all wounded, and we all wound the people we love, though usually without intention, even those of us lucky enough to be in secure committed relationships. We have to claim our own wounds so they can heal. Only then can we figure out how to move forward, and stay loving, and muddle on despite the hurt.”
